Bissan Salman

Bissan Salman currently serves as Director of External Relations at the Regional Organization for Peace, Economics & Security (ROPES), where she oversees diplomatic relations with government partners in Europe and across the Middle East, in addition to managing the development of the organization’s various components. Prior to joining the ROPES team, Bissan held the position of Political Advisor at the Japanese Embassy in Tel Aviv. Her work focused on connecting the Palestinian community in Israel with Japanese diplomats, with emphasis on the economic and political sectors. In 2021, she received the EU Award for Women Leadership from the European Parliament after spending six months in Brussels. Bissan has extensive experience in peacebuilding, having been involved with various nonprofit organizations dealing with coexistence, children’s rights, and minority rights. She has spoken at conferences around the world including forums in Japan, Tanzania, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and the U.S. Bissan completed her graduate studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where she received the prestigious Chevening scholarship from the British government.
